Okra

This is another of those mystery vegetables popular in the South.  Whole, I think their shape is entirely unappealing (and slightly indecent).  Sliced, they look like jalapenos (not my favorite either).

As I explained to the Sous Chefs during The Interview, I haven’t had okra before, and I’m not going to cook it.  I am only entrusting it to a professional.  I will find a place that makes good okra, and I will eat it at that location.  I am intimidated by okra, and I think it looks gross and slimy, so until I try it and like it, I don’t want to make it and have it be gross.
